Planet Chef
Planet Chef
Meet with a new generation of talented chefs who embody the new faces of French and International Cuisine. Originating from Brazil, Argentina, Japan, South Africa, Lebanon, Sweden, Colombia or even Mexico, they all trained and learnt the art of cooking in France, before starting their own restaurants in the country of French cuisine. Meet 16 young and creative chefs who have built their gastronomic know-how on the combination of two cultures and are adding unknown flavours to our plates. Traveling back to their native country, re-visiting the places and culture that have fundamentally inspired their cuisine, we’ll discover the secrets of their passion.
Planet chef is an intimate portrait of chefs from the four corners of the globe. Whether they are foreign chefs who have decided to settle in France to develop a unique cuisine (seasons 1&2), or French chefs who have taken the gamble of flying to distant lands (season 3), they are all keen to celebrate a cuisine that transcends borders.
These chefs open the doors of their restaurants to us, taking us alongside their brigades, their customers and their producers. As we stroll through the neighborhoods and places that inspire them, each chef reveals his or her true self, and lets his or her creativity speak for itself. As they plunge into the heart of their culinary universe, in contact with the products and flavors that forge their identity, they express their passion and the link that unites them with French gastronomy.
The chefs retrace the path that led them to the realization of their wildest dreams… In their country or region of origin, where it all begań, alongside those who carried them along, or on their new culinary playground, where they are now trying to reinvent themselves.
