GEDEON Programmes teams are currently filming at the Rosa Bonheur’s Castel, to shoot some of the fictional scenes in the documentary.
2024 marks the 150th anniversary of the very first Impressionist exhibition, which took place in Paris in the spring of 1874. This collective exhibition stands out as a culminating point in the emergence of modern art, revealing a new generation of young feverish artists with a vision and wanting to change the world. Their subjective impression of reality, using new painting techniques, new subjects and approaches prevailed.
Paris’ Musée d’Orsay in conjunction with the National Gallery of Washington, is curating a major retrospective exhibition in 2024 to celebrate this pivotal moment in the history of art. For this occasion, Gedeon Programmes will produce a special 3D reconstruction of the original layout of the Impressionist exhibition, to offer today’s visitors an immersive experience, to feel, hear and see what it was like to be among those discovering this avant-garde movement in 1874.
An event documentary has been developed in parallel and in coproduction with ARTE France and Musée d’Orsay, to capture the birth and rise of Impressionism over the 12 years leading up to the 1874 exhibition.
