Hergé: In the Shadow of Tintin

Plunging us into the world of Tintin and deconstructing the Belgian cartoonist’s creative processes, this film traces the career of Georges Remi, better known as Hergé. From his creator’s boyhood involvement in the Scout movement to his fascination with contemporary art, Tintin was never far away. Thanks to personal accounts from fans and experts and extracts from interviews with Hergé himself, we gain a better understanding of the phenomenon of Tintin, who ultimately eclipsed his own creator. The film reveals a gifted and single-minded man who, towards the end of his life, drew himself as a prisoner, chained to his own drawing table.
